WYSE Sectional History

 

Peoria Heights High School students have won first place Sectional WYSE Academic Challenge medallions as follows:  Calvin Tran in 1994, Daniel Walters in both 1995 and 1996, Nathan Pauli in 1998, Jeff Chase in 1999, Jeff Schwindenhammer in 2005 and 2006, and Nikki Markovich in 2008 in chemistry;  Calvin Tran in 1994 in physics;  Pat Aylward in 1996, Shaun Lewis in 1997,  in computers;  Don DeLong in 1997 and 1998, Brian Redshaw in 2000 in engineering graphics;  Caitlin McLaughlin in 1996;  Nathan Pauli in 1998 in math;  Dylan Troxel in 2004, 2005 and 2006, Willow Crane in 2007, and Sam Mathews in 2008 in biology.

 

The following have earned sectional second place medallions:  Josh Clausen in 1993 and Ryan Latvaitis in 2006 in English;  Matt McClain in 1993, Ben Walbert in 2000, Andrew Jackson in 2002 and 2003 in physics;  Drew Stout in 1993, Dan Walters in 1994, Don DeLong in 1997 and 1998, Emily Pauli in 2002, Matt Fuller in 2004, Dylan Troxel in 2004 and 2006, and Greg Gauf and Nikki Markovich in 2007 and Greg again in 2008 in chemistry;  Dan Walters in 1995,  Adam Wallenfang in 2003 and Willow Crane in 2008 in biology;  Nathan Pauli in 1997, Hye Jin Yeon in 2005 in math;  Chris Dalton in 1995, Scott Hulse in 1998, Brian Redshaw in 1999, Scott Hulse in 2000 and Hal Woo in 2006 in engineering graphics; and Pat Aylward in 1997 and Greg Chamberlain in 2005 in computer fundamentals.

 

State contest qualifiers by score include:  Ryan DeLong in 2002 in math.

 

A number of third place medallions have been won including:  Matthew McClain in 1993, Drew Stout in 1994, Anthony Buecker in 1995 and Jimmy Cresswell in 2006 in physics;  Calvin Tran in 1993 and Willow Crane in 2006, Sam Mathews in 2007 in biology;  Emily Pauli in 2002;  Rob Bunting in 2000, Calvin Tran in 1993, Dylan Troxel and Hal Woo both in 2005, and Justin Hayse in 2007 in chemistry;  Shaun Lewis in 1996, Jeff Schwindenhammer and Mike Hill both in 2005, Nick Lawrence in 2006, and Sam Mathews in 2007 in computer fundamentals;  Ryan Whalen in 1997, Mike Hill and Julio Soto both in 2005 and Austin Harper in 2007 in engineering graphics;  Nathan Pauli in 1997, Greg Gauf in 2007, and Sam Boles, Nikki Markovich, and Julio Soto all in 2008 in math; and Jenni Black in 1997 in English.
