2003 Scholastic Bowl Summary

conference medallions were awarded to Jeron Sanders
(12) of Lewistown with 97 toss-up questions answered, Adam Wallenfang
(12) of Peoria Heights with 76, Lindsey Wilmot (12) of Havana with 71, Ben
Sheets (9) of Lewistown with 59, JD Andersen (12) of Abingdon with 58, Ryan Stoneking (11) of Cuba with 48, and Adam McKee (12) of
Bushnell with 42. Tied for eighth place
were Matt Fuller (11)
and Dylan Troxel (9) of
Team leader in toss-ups answered was senior Adam Wallenfang with 219 followed by senior and team captain Susie Woo with 85, junior Matt Fuller with 79, and freshmen Dylan Troxel with 75. Juniors Justin Massey and Noah Johnson answered 15 and 12 respectively. Also answering varsity questions were freshmen Hal Woo with 11, Jeff Schwindenhammer with 8, and Nick Lawrence with 3 toss-ups.
Adam Wallenfang received a third year varsity bar. Susan Woo received a second year bar for her varsity letter and the captain pin. Matt Fuller and Dylan Troxel earned Fifty Point Club recognition, varsity letters, and received plaques. Susie Woo also earned Fifty Point Club status. Her plaque notes her service as captain and her career 128 answers. Adam received a One Hundred Point Club plaque which noted his 423 career answers. This total places him in fourth place in career answers in school history.
The varsity team competed in twenty contests in the six month season between October and March. They answered 507 toss-up questions for a 7.5 per quiz average en route to a 43-20 record. The overall school varsity record is now 511 wins and 312 losses in the 17 years PHHS has competed in scholastic bowl.
The frosh-soph record was 12-18 on nine dates. Dylan Troxel (62 FS and 75 Varsity toss-ups answered), Jeff Schwindenhammer (36 FS and 8 Varsity), Hal Woo (30 FS and 11 Varsity), and Nick Lawrence (2 FS and 3 Varsity) all earned JV letters and Justin Massey a second year pin. Noah Johnson (12 Varsity), Greg Chamberlain (7 FS), Mike Casey (6 FS), Jenna Darnell (5 FS), Grant Allen (4 FS), Amanda Chamberlain (2 FS), and Mike Ross also contributed and recieved certificates. The frosh-soph team answered 154 toss-up questions for a 5.1 average. Mrs. Lyn Egle was the F/S Coach. Thanks to all the parents, staff, and non-scholastic bowl students who helped during the year.
