The 1992 season ran from mid October to May 2nd thus
lasting over six months. Twelve students were team members at
the end of the year. Varsity letters were awarded to Shane
Davis, Matthew McClain (3rd year and captain), and Drew Stout
(2nd year). Junior Varsity letters were earned by Chris Dalton,
Eric Searles, and Calvin Tran. Participation certificates were
awarded to Jason Buskirk, Josh Clausen, Sarah Fleischauer,
Debbie Gibbons, Alisha Scudder, and Sean Zears.
In the twelve interscholastic competitions the Varsity
record was 16 wins and 23 losses, while the Frosh-Soph record
was 4 wins and 3 losses. The Varsity team won the second place
trophy at the Indian Valley Conference tournament.

The top Varsity toss-up question answerer was Drew Stout
with 137 toss-up questions answered. This is a new team record
surpassing the 104 answered by Bert Wombacher in 1991. Matthew
McClain was second with 65 correct answers. The team as a whole
answered 243 for a 5.3 answer per quiz average. This was down
from the 7.4 average of 1991.
Peoria Heights again hosted the (fourth annual) Casimir
Pulaski Day mini-tournament on the first Monday in March. Eureka
won first place in both the Varsity and JV divisions this year.
Thanks to the following staff members who assisted: Randy
Cooksey, Christa Rains, Jerry Crumrine, Sharon Nelson, Steve
Hatfield, Anita Glisan, Pat Mikulecky, Tom Gamboe, and Linda
Maricle. Volunteers are welcome for the 1993 tournament on March
1st from 9 a.m. until noon.
