The 1990 season ran from October 30th to April 21st thus
lasting almost six months. Seventeen students were team members
at the end of the year. Varsity letters were awarded to Monica
Claude (2nd year), Brett Davis (2nd year and captain), Jake
Murrie, Linh Tran (2nd year), and Bert Wombacher (3rd year).
Junior Varsity letters were awarded to Terry Hughes, Matt
McClain, Aaron Plate, James Renger, and My Tran. Certificates
were given to Josh Clausen, Scott Hammer, Charlie Howe, Greg
Raistrick, Jim Slankard, Keisha Young, and Sean Zears.
In the 14 interscholastic competitions the Varsity record
was 15 wins and 26 losses while the Junior Varsity/Frosh-Soph
record was 4 wins and 9 losses. The Varsity team won its first
trophy by placing second at the Eureka Tournament. They were
also second at the Illini Bluffs Tournament. The top three
Varsity toss-up question answerers were Bert (86), Brett (48),
and Jake (43); while Matt and Terry were the top Frosh-Soph
scorers with 35 and 20 respectively.
