4/6/05 OUR SCIENCE MINDS WANT TO KNOW Do eggs really bounce? Can oxidation occur with SOS pads? What happens when you mix a tube of Mentos with a two liter of diet coke? Our experiments in class continue on. The Water Celebration at the Civic Center provided us with wonderful experiments as well. Ask your child what they learned. This Trip was a wonderful experience.

Story problems here we come! Our classroom will be working on story problems for the remainder of this quarter. Every student should know both multiplication and division problems by this time. If your child is still continuing to struggle with this please practice, practice, practice! Their little minds are buzzing with information on the story problems. Important Dates Please look for information coming home about the following in 5th grade v D.A.R.E. posters v D.A.R.E. graduation v D.A.R.E. baseball game v Awards All requirements for D.A.R.E. must be completed to attend the D.A.R.E. baseball game. PRIZE BOX HERE WE COME! The students use the stickers from their homework sheets to purchase items from the prize box. These sheets should always be returned signed by the parents on a daily basis. This ensures that our communication lines are always open.
